We share a lot about what makes the Oregon Coast so special. So, we thought we would put it all together with our list of favorite Oregon Coast activities.
Spend the day in Seal Rock
Located 23 miles south of Depoe Bay, along the Oregon Coast, is the town of Seal Rock. Best known for its tide pools, beautiful ancient rock formations, and wildlife, Seal Rock is a true treat for the coastal road tripper. It also makes the perfect day trip when staying at the Whale Cove Inn.
Visit the World’s Smallest Harbor

Depoe Bay is home to the world’s smallest harbor, and in 2020, Depoe Bay was named the “Best harbor in the U.S.” by U.S. Harbors and its followers. The picturesque harbor of only 6 acres may be small but it sure has a lot to offer its visitors and locals, alike.
Whale watching
Spring and summer along the Oregon Coast are the perfect times to view a wide variety of wildlife, from harbor seals to Roosevelt Elk. But the great whale migration is one of the most popular wildlife displays to greet the coastline of Depoe Bay.
From mid-March to about the end of May, you will see roughly 20,000 gray whales migrate from the warm waters of Mexico back up to Alaska. Plus, with Depoe Bay’s resident whales that make their home here year-round, you are bound to spot something no matter what time of year you visit!

Visit a lighthouse
A road trip down the Oregon Coast’s Highway 101 isn’t complete without stopping to view its historic lighthouses. Today, there are 11 lighthouses that remain on the Oregon Coast, with some private and others open to the public for viewing.
Visit the coastal bridges

The Oregon Coast may be known for its stunning landscape, statuesque lighthouse, and oceanic wildlife but it is also home to historic bridges. While these bridges stand with the purpose of getting you from one place to another, they also offer great opportunities for photographs and a chance to learn about Oregon’s history.
